I always have trouble remembering three things: faces, names, and – I can’t remember what the third thing is.
Fred Allen
The right name matters.
In 1892, Caleb Bradham created a new soft drink called ‘Brad’s Drink’. Because of the success of ‘Brad’s Drink’, his company grew to become one of the biggest in the world a century later. But it might not have reached those levels of success if they hadn’t changed the name to ‘Pepsi’.
So today, we are excited to announce that Global Analytics has become GAIN Credit.
This name change has taken effect in our group of companies across the world. Global Analytics India Pvt Ltd will keep its name, and will remain a subsidiary of GAIN Credit, Inc.
Changing your name isn’t an easy decision to make. We’ve been ‘Global Analytics’ for a good 14 years and a lot has changed in that time. Phones are now smart, streaming doesn’t involve water, and tablets are no longer just something you take for a headache.
We’ve changed too. Back in 2003, Global Analytics was well and truly ahead of the curve in terms of providing credit scoring and fraud detection services to some of the biggest financial organisations, using cutting-edge techniques in predictive analytics and machine learning.
In 2008, the business took a big step, when we started offering loans directly to consumers. Lending Stream was launched in the UK, and became the first brand to offer a 6-month product in the high-cost short-term credit segment. This longer time to repay, and our commitment to consumers helped Lending Stream to grow and become one of the top digital lenders in the UK.
2016 saw the launch of Drafty, our innovative fee-free line of credit solution, giving customers a pot of cash they can dip into on demand. Much cheaper than payday loans and the vast majority of overdrafts, Drafty has quickly built both share and popularity. In 2017, it was voted by consumers as the ‘Innovation of the year’ .
In 2017, we built on our UK successes and launched OYE! Loans in India, a market which offers tremendous potential (more on that in an upcoming blog).
So while we’ve changed what we do over time, we’ve never changed our goal: to empower the lives of the underserved through responsible access to credit. Our new name reflects how we focus on that goal.
Something else that won’t change? Our strengths. We’ll still have the best talent working on cutting-edge technology, and a culture of ensuring everything we do keeps the customer’s best interests in mind.
GAIN Credit is already trusted by hundreds of thousands of customers. We look forward to welcoming millions more.
We know that people have difficulty remembering faces, names, and maybe other things. So we put our goal right in our name to help you remember.
We are GAIN Credit.
